06:00 am We start our journey toward the Colca Valley with a pick up from your hotel.
09:30 am We stop for breakfast in Chivay, capital of the Caylloma province.
10:00 am Heading down into the Colca Valley, we make another stop at the Antahuilque lookout point, where there are great views of the impressive agricultural terraces of pre-Incan origin. We also stop in the village of Maca, where we can admire the beauty of the colonial church.
12:30 pm We arrive at the Granja del Colca restaurant, located five minutes from the Cruz del Condor, where we enjoy a delicious lunch.
02:30 pm We arrive in Cabanaconde and check in to the Kuntur Wassi hotel.
04:00 pm We go for a walk to the Achachigua lookout point, located about 20 minutes from Cabanaconde. From this point there are spectacular views into the depths of the Colca Canyon, of the villages scattered on the north side of the canyon, and towards the serried mountain ranges of the Andes.
06:00 pm We head back to the hotel.
06:30 a.m – 07:30 am Breakfast at Kuntur Wassi.
07:30 a.m We head towards the world famous Cruz del Condor lookout point.
Where we stay around 45 minutes to admire the canyon landscape and appreciate the majestic flight of the Andean condor.
08:30 am We continue our journey, passing through the villages of Pinchollo, Maca, and Achoma.
10:00 am We arrive to the village of Yanque where we take a walk to the archeological site of Uyo Uyo, which was the historical capital of the Collagua culture and dates back to pre-Incan times. It is located approximately 25 minutes walk from the central plaza in Yanque.
11:30 am We continue on to Chivay, where we can enjoy an hour in the relaxing hot springs of La Calera.
12:30 pm We enjoy a sumptuous buffet lunch in Chivay.
On our way back to Arequipa we stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes lookout point, at 4,910 meters above sea level. We then pass through the Lake Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve where we can see vicuñas, alpacas and llamas.
06:00 pm We arrive back in the center of Arequipa.
